Command - Chief 27A

Just after 0400 Hours, Engine Company 8 was alerted along with other area units for a report of a apartment building on fire. Engine 261 arrived on the scene and reported fire showing from sides 1 and 4 on the top floor of a two story brick garden apartment building. Engine 83's crew arrived on the scene and supplied Engine 261 with water. Command requested a task force alarm in addition to the first alarm units. Engine 83's crew pulled a third line off of 26's pumper and the crew split up, with some of the crew searching the fire apartment, and other apartments on the same floor, and the other crew ventilating and checking for extension. The fire was knocked down within about 15 minutes, and after assisting with overhaul, Engine 83 cleared after about one hour.
