Membership The
application process usually takes about a month or so depending on how
many people in the county are going through the same process. It starts
usually with you as a prospective member setting up a date and time
for a ride along. During this ride along, if still interested, you can
obtain the application. After completing the application (including
being notarized and fingerprints being completed), the application is
turned in and a background investigation is done. Once that is complete,
you will have to call Express Care at PG Hospital to set up a date for
a physical. Once the physical is complete and you pass, usually within
a weeks time the final results return and you are assigned an ID number.
Once that is complete, for new members you must sign up and attend a
32 hour Volunteer Recruit School which is held monthly. If you already
have training, you must apply for reciprocity and have it signed off
approved at the next Fire Commision meeting. Then you must get your
annual traing done prior to riding (fit test, infectious control, CPR
( if expired ) ). It sounds kind of busy but its not, classes and training
are given periodically during the month. As a member of Seat Pleasant
you are placed on 6 months probation and during these six months as
well as the rest of your time at Seat Pleasant, you are required to
attend monthly meetings, company functions, and remain active in responses
( 50 every 3 months, not too hard ) If interested in joining, please contact Lt Kevin Brenner via email
