At 1833 hours Engine 82 and Ambulance 88 were alerted to 5701 Martin Luther King Hwy, in Seat Pleasant, for an accident. While enroute to the call it was updated that a motorcycle had hit a pedestrian at a high rate of speed and then hit a fire hydrant. Units from 8 arrived to find two victims, one of which was a trauma code. Crews split up and started treating both trauma victims. The trauma code was quickly loaded and taken to a local trauma center by Ambulance 88 and a medic unit as additional EMS units transported the other trauma victim. Engine 82 cleared in about an hour and the ambulance in just over 2 hours.
