Saturday, August 4, 2012 At 1455 hours Engine 83 was alerted second due on the street alarm at 1418 Farmingdale Dr, in Company 38's area, for wires going into a house on fire.  Units from 38 and 8 arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the basement of the house and the box alarm was filled out.  The crew from Engine 8 ran a line inside to the basement and found a room off and knocked it down.  PEPCO was called to the scene to cut the power and the crew finished extinguishing what was left.  The cause was determined to be electrical and there were no injuries.  Engine 83 picked up and returned in 2 hours.
